At a time when by far the greater number of our

residents are suffering loss by the fall in the

Exchange value of the dollar, We submit that it would

be unjust to impose upon them an additional burden in

order that Government servants may enjoy large increases

of Salary.

From the above table it will be seen that although

the total staff of the Government has increased in nine

years by 52.81 per cent., the number of sterling paid

officers has increased in the same period by 76.05 per

cant.

The following figures show the very slight increase
